Not a lot to update on

The cupcakes were delicious!  I don’t know if the guy I baked them for liked them or not though.  Turns out his friends and family were having a birthday party for him.  Whoops, would have thought he’d mention that so he blew us off and went to hang out with them.  I might sound a little angry and I kind of am.  Not that his family was throwing him a birthday party, just that he failed to mention it until AFTER I had spent all the time and effort making cupcakes.  But they tasted good so I’m ok.

I’m sitting in Jeter lounge working on one of my stories while I wait for class to start.  I keep doing my speil on how AWESOME the Kindle is.  Everyone is really interested and I’m the only one that has one so I keep telling people about it.  I don’t mind telling people though, because I love my Kindle so.

Yay! Cupcakes!

I wrote a four page paper today that is due Friday so as a reward I made cupcakes!

It’s my friend Patricks birthday tomorrow and he said that he had never had a home-made cake so I made him cake.  I made it tonight because I have an eight hour shift tomorrow,  9:30 to 5:30.  It should be okay though because I get to look forward to cupcakes and steak!

Sunday is steak night at the apartment.  Jeff is a really good cook and the boys really like Steak Night.  I’m excited.

Yesterday was a great day

It was great for two reasons.  Reason 1:  I found out that the Robin in Lego Batman in Tim Drake.  I know that doesn’t matter to anyone but me but it made me really happy.

Reason 2:  Haley, Jeff, and I went to the Shelby County Fair in Columbiana (about fifteen minutes from where I live).  Entrance was eight dollars but that would get you on ALL of the rides.  Food was kind of pricey, but good so I guess it’s okay.  We got there about 5:30 and left around eight.  We rode every ride there.  There was a swings ride, a couple of other typical rides, a centerfuge, bumber cars, and one terrifying one called the zipper.  For the most part rides don’t scare me to badly.  That one scared me to death.  I shut my eyes for most of the ride even though I was trying not to scream I couldn’t help it.  Jeff was no help since he cackled madly the entire time.  Haley didn’t go on it, but said she got nauseous just watching it.  It scared the bejeezus out of me.  I had a passenger for the bumper cars because there was a large family in front of me that had smaller children that couldn’t ride by themselves, but not enough adults to ride with them, so I volunteered my services.  I remember being the youngest and getting left behind when my borther and cousins would all run off and do something fun.  I hated that feeling, so she rode with me.  She laughed madly everytime we hit one of her brothers, which I tried to do as often as possible.  That’s what I would have wanted to do when I was four.  It was a very enjoyable evening.

We tried to get everyone else to go with us but no one else wanted to come, which I thought was stupid, they missed out on a great evening.

History is fun!

So it seems that all I’ve done lately is go to glass and do research.  I spend a lot of time in the library reading about Peterson, its still fun.  Yesterday Haley wanted to do some research on a house she is thinking about buying, so we drove out to the Shelby County Courthouse and started digging.  First we went to the court house, where they told us to go across the street to the tax office.  We got over there and at first the lady was really rude.  Sighing and rolling her eyes, and I was thinking that this wasn’t going to go anywhere.  But she warmed up while we were there and really helped out.  Then we went to the courthouse to start tracing the line of title back.  So we found out that Merijanian bought the house from Fred Frost in July 1971, Frost bought it in June 1971 from the University of Alabama.  In Tuscaloosa.  But the house is in Montevallo.  After that we couldn’t find when the University bought it.  So we are very confused.  That was as far back as we got and it took us HOURS.  It was really fun and we enjoyed it.

Working Days are here again

As the title suggests I started back to work this week at Target.  Friday was my first day at the Alabaster store.  I feel like I should know the store but I don’t, and the feeling that I should just makes the whole thing feel really odd.  The people I’ve met are really nice.  Unfortantly there has been some mix-up in my transfer and I’m not on the regular schedule so I’ll be doing pick-up shifts till the end of the month at least.  I could really like it down here.  Why? do you ask.  Well Friday night we closed at 10 I was clocked out by 10:10.  10…10.  In Huntsville I NEVER got out at 10:10 not even on Sunday’s when we closed at 9.  If I got out at 11 I considered it a VERY good night.  We also only had three cashiers.  On a Friday night.  That NEVER happened in huntsville, we usually had five or more.  Saturday there was only two of us and that was okay, we were able to handle it fine.  We were clocked out by 10:20.  Dang, I could get used to this.
