So I said in my last post that my computer had died, but my daddy had fixed it. Well it died again last night. I had been handling it with kid gloves for the past two weeks since Dad fixed it, then yesterday I finally decided to take it to school with me, the first time since dad fixed it. It worked fine all the way through class, I put it to sleep and took it home, and when I tried waking it up, it seized up on me. I left it alone and plugged in all night, I tried removing the battery and putting it back in, nothing. I was hoping it was just a one time thing, but since it relapsed apparently this might be a chronic thing. So I’ve taken it to the local repair shop, they charge $45 dollars for a diagnostic, then another $40 for repair, but I’m not sure if that includes replacement parts. If it doesn’t, then I’ll take my official diagnosis and purchase the parts and either install them myself or have Daddy install them. Sigh.

I’m very angsty now. I want my laptop. I am borrowing Haley’s this afternoon for my library work that I have to do. Grar.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY MOM!!!

She asked me to update and since it was her birthday I made an active effort to do so.  I had work this evening otherwise it would have been earlier.  Let’s see whats been going on in my life?  Writing papers, reading books for class, writing more papers, sleeping, eating, writing papers, and those ARE listed in order of importance.  Jeff has a new job.  He is now working as a cable guy, he installs and fixes peoples internets.  Right now he’s in training. It’s changed our sleeping habits, whereas before are hours resembled that of college students aka whenever, now it resembles grownups.  We are going to bed right after I finish this post and we will be up at 6:00 tomorrow morning.  Its kind of hard, but we are managing.  I’m on alarm duty.  This friday I have a Halloween party with all of my school friends, I’m really excited.  Tomorrow, Haley and I are finishing her costume and (finally!) carving pumpkins.  I have a Pirates of the Carribean kit, partly to get the tools I need, and partly because I (heart) Pirates!  My computer died a couple of weeks ago but I took it to my daddy and he made it work again!  Yay Daddy!

Alright Jeff is making noises that I need to shut down and go to sleep.  Good night!  And Happy Birthday Mom!

For class this evening we are doing this Mock July Crisis thing.  It’s like Model UN (where students pretend to be representatives of various countries and debate world affairs as if they were from their countries) except this is the eve of WWI and we all represent the nations involved and we are trying to decide the out come.  I am the speaker for Germany (formerly Prussia).  I spent yesterday and today going over the material, more than just what I need to know for my small portion so that I can successfully pretend to be my country.  I know who my firends are, I know old alliences, I know who my enemies are.  I know who I will wheel and deal with, and who I will not.  I know the outlook I’m taking into this thing, and I know the attitude I am going to take out.

I spent most of the morning doing my hair trying to come up with something cute, but ended up just throwing on a headband.  I’m going to do my make-up in about an hour.  I am so excited about this.  I might be more excited than anyone else is going to be, but oh well, blind enthusiasim is one of the things I’m known for around here.

Haley bought a pirate hat the other day and I told her she had to wear it to school.  So she did.  When she showed it to Dr. Truss, Dr. Truss said she could only think of one other person who would do such a thing, “Suzanne Flynn.”  Haley laughed and told her I was the one that had made her wear it.  I laughed when she told me.  My teachers know me so well!  Isn’t that good, I’ve made an impression!
